Talking Season: Ole Miss announces who will join Lane Kiffin at next week's SEC Media Days
This week is the final quiet period, if you will, before the 2024 college football season ramps up in Dallas next Monday with the Southeastern Conference Media Days and Ole Miss kicking things off on the first day.
Lane Kiffin will be the talk of the day inside the Omni hotel as he will be fielding plenty of questions about Ole Miss and the potential the program has as he enters his fifth season in Oxford.
Coming along with Kiffin will be Jaxson Dart, Tre Harris and Jared Ivey to represent the Rebels as the SEC announced player attendees for all 16 schools on Monday. This marks the first SEC Media days for all three and the first time Kiffin has brought a quarterback with him since Matt Corral in 2021.
Media Days is one that has grown in stature, especially for the SEC, with radio row filled to max capacity and coaches and players making pit stops on every show the SEC Network airs to fill content throughout August and fall camp coverage.
For Dart it will be a day filled with fielding questions ranging from the College Football Playoffs, a run at the SEC and national championships. Plus there is the Heisman Trophy buzz that will certainly follow Dart around the Omni to each media stop.

“It’s funny, it gets brought up here and there by the guys but my mindset is winning every single day and being 1-0 that day,” Dart told The Ole Miss Spirit last month. “I feel that if I do that every thing else will come with it. But my focus is winning and going 1-0 each and every day.”
Harris will be getting a lot of spotlight attention as he is expected to be Dart’s primary target in a wide receivers room full of weapons.
For Ivey, it is also his swan song at Ole Miss and the three-year starter is part of a revamped defensive line that received a big boost from transfers Walter Nolen and Princely Umanmielen.
The SEC Media Days are July 15-18 and will air on the SEC Network.
