Three Ole Miss players receive 2024 NFL Combine invitations
With the 2023 NFL season coming to a close with Sunday’ Super Bowl the offseason takes center stage and preparation for the upcoming NFL Draft by Ole Miss players begins.
Tuesday saw the first step on that road with the release of the official list of invites to the 2024 NFL Combine, taking place in Indianapolis February 26 through March 4.
Ole Miss saw three former players receive invitations to go to Lucas Oil Stadium and the chance to perform in front of NFL general managers, head coaches and scouts. All three are on the defensive side of the ball and there is one glaring snub, if you are Ole Miss coaches and fans.
Cedric Johnson, Daijahn Anthony and Deantre Prince earned the sought-after NFL Combine invitations and get the opportunity to show out twice, including Ole Miss Pro Day later this Spring.
Of the three Rebels heading to the NFL Combine, Anthony is the top tackler with 61 in his one season at Ole Miss. Anthony transferred in from Liberty and spent one year under defensive coordinator Pete Golding.
“Coach Golding’s defense, if you’re a DB that’s listening to this, come to coach Golding’s defense because he’s going to put you in the best positions,” Anthony said after winning the Peach Bowl in December. “He’s going to make sure you’re good. He’s going to take care of you.”

Johnson recorded 40 tackles and tied with Jared Ivey in sacks to lead the Ole Miss with 5.5. He participated in the Senior Bowl but did not receive any awards throughout the week’s practices, though did earn high praise by media outlets covering in Mobile.
Prince finished with 36 tackles and had an interception in 2023.
There was one omission to the invite list and that was Ole Miss receiver Dayton Wade.
After two seasons in Oxford, Wade made the decision to head on to the NFL after wrapping up the season at the Peach Bowl. Despite having another year of eligibility Wade wanted to go on and get his professional career started.
That will have to wait until the Rebels host their own Pro Day as Wade missed out on earning a trip to Indianapolis.
Wade was the second best receiver for Ole Miss in 2023 with 55 catches for 830 yards and four touchdowns. Only Tre Harris had a better season.
