Updating Ole Miss' list of players entered in the NCAA Transfer Portal
An updated list of Ole Miss football players who are entered into the NCAA Transfer Portal as well as former Rebels who have committed to new schools.
The portal closed for Ole Miss midnight on January 8 after the five day extension window following the Gator Bowl on January 2. There were 18 Rebels that entered during the December transfer window.
*Editor’s Note: the players classification listed is what they will be for the 2025 season*
Ole Miss players in the NCAA Transfer Portal
Noreel White | Redshirt Freshman | Wide Receiver | 6-1, 185
White played in two games for the Rebels for a total of four snaps with two catches for 34 yards. He was on the track to be developed this season and then become a contributor in 2025 with the mass exodus in the wide receivers room. But, that will not come to be after the four high school signees and handful of transfers coming White saw writing on the wall that starting next Fall might be tougher than anticipated. So he hit the portal soon after the Gator Bowl and has yet to commit to a new school.
Jadon Canady | Redshirt Senior | Safety | 5-10, 175
Canady hit the portal after the regular season, playing in 12 games in his second year at Ole Miss after transferring in from Tulane following the 2022 season. Up and down career with the Rebels secondary and his performance at LSU this year is one to forget for him. He finished with 38 tackles (22 solo), 2.5 tackles for loss and 12 pass breakups. Canady is currently still uncommitted with a new team.
Rodney Groce, Jr. | Senior (COVID year left) | Linebacker | 6-0, 220
Groce was a non-scholarship transfer who joined the team during Fall Camp and did not register any stats or play in any games. Prior to coming to Ole Miss he played JUCO at East Mississippi Community College. Currently uncommitted to a new team.
Jason Albritton | Redshirt Junior | Running Back | 5-9, 220
Albritton played in 10 games this season, primarily on special teams, but did have six carries for 15 yards. He transferred from South Florida after the 2022 season, playing in two games his first year in Oxford and redshirted after the 2023 season. Currently uncommitted to a new team.
Jack Mills | Redshirt Junior | Offensive Tackle | 6-4, 320
Mills was a non-scholarship player who joined the team for a second time during last year’s Spring drills. He went through Fall camp ahead of the 2022 season. Transferred from Georgetown after the 2021 season where he redshirted his freshman season and did not play in any games. Currently uncommitted to a new team.
Where former Rebels are headed
Walker Howard (Louisiana) | Redshirt Junior | Quarterback | 6-0, 190
Howard transferred from LSU after his freshman season in 2022 where he redshirted. The move to Ole Miss boosted the quarterback room behind Jaxson Dart after the departure of Luke Altmyer to Illinois. Though over his two season in Oxford Howard played in four games and saw little action, throwing two passes in 2024 when Austin Simmons passed him on the depth chart. Howard hit the portal and chose to return home to Lafayette where he will play for the Ragin’ Cajuns in 2025.
Micah Pettus (Florida State) | Redshirt Senior | Offensive tackle | 6-7, 350
Pettus was a member of the 2021 signing class and spent four seasons at Ole Miss as a regular starter along the offensive line. His final season ended unceremoniously after being dismissed from the team following the Egg Bowl. Pettus played and started 11 games for the Rebels this season at right tackle. He committed to the Seminoles earlier this month.
Ayden Williams (Mississippi State) | Junior | Wide Receiver | 6-3, 205
Williams was member of the 2023 signing class and immediately played in 11 games — starting one — his freshman season, burning his redshsirt. This season there was the expectation Williams would take that next step in year two like Cayden Lee did but it never panned out. He played in eight games, starting in one, but had minimal stats with three catches for 39 yards in garbage time. With what was brought in via the portal and the high school class Williams followed Noreel White’s lead and hit the portal, landing just two hours south of Oxford in Starkville. The Brandon High School standout wanted to stay close to home.
Matt Jones (Southern Mississippi) | Redshirt Senior | Running Back | 5-7, 200
A member of the 2021 signing class Jones has been primarily a depth piece in the Ole Miss running backs room, but that changed in 2024. Being used as the backup to Henry Parrish, Jr. over Ulysses Bently IV, Jones saw the most action of his Rebel career with 44 carries for 226 yards and three touchdowns. He also had three catches for 13 yards. Despite the room clearing out with Parrish and Bentley departing, Jones opted to hit the portal and play his final collegiate season in Hattiesburg, a touch closer to his hometown of Jackson.
Rashad Amos (Memphis) | Redshirt Senior (COVID Year) | Running Back | 6-1, 235
Amos was a transfer from Miami (Ohio) and another body added to the Rebels running back room. He played in six games and has six carries for 75 yards but that was about all to write home about. Amos never saw meaningful action in 2024 and opted to try his luck 90 minutes up the road at Memphis in 2025.

Louis Moore (Indiana) | Graduate | Safety | 5-11, 200
The revolving door for Moore brought him to Ole Miss by way of Indiana and is now taking him back to Bloomington after a season in Oxford. Expected to be a key part of the Rebels secondary, Moore played in 11 games and started in two of them. He finished with 36 tackles (17 solo), two tackles for loss, half sack, one fumble recovery and a pass breakup. Moore entered the portal after the regular season but stayed to play in, and start, the Gator Bowl. He is now heading back up to finish his collegiate career as a Hoosier after playing two previous seasons there.
Micah Davis (Southern Mississippi) | Graduate | Wide Receiver | 5-11, 185
Davis has had a journeyman collegiate career with stops at Air Force, Iowa Western Community College, Utah State and then Ole Miss this season. Brought in as a return specialist Davis spent most of his playing time on special teams, until that Florida game when he became the starting running back in a surprise move by Lane Kiffin. He also started the Egg Bowl but Bentley got the bulk of the action in the game. He is staying in Mississippi and following Jones to Hattiesburg.
Preston Cushman (Central Florida) | Redshirt Junior | Offensive Tackle | 6-5, 305
Cushman was part of the 2022 signing class and was anticipated to be a key player along the Ole Miss offensive line, but never came to be. He played in two games his freshman season, four games in 2023 and 12 games in 2024 but primarily on special teams. This is a loss on depth for the offensive line in 2025.
Key Lawrence (UCLA) | Graduate | Safety | 6-0, 205
Lawrence is another journeyman that has stops at Tennessee, Oklahoma and then came to Ole Miss after three years in Norman. Lawrence did not turn out to be a big transfer addition for the Rebels, playing in four games and assisted on one tackle for his lone stat of 2024. He is now heading out to Los Angeles to join the Bruins for his final year of eligibility.
Kavion Broussard (Arkansas) | Redshirt Freshman | Offensive Line | 6-6, 290
A member of the 2024 signing class and a three-star prospect, Broussard did not see any action this season and was expected to be a development piece for the future. Instead he is another depth loss for the Ole Miss offensive line room and is heading to Fayetteville.
Trip White (Oklahoma State) | Redshirt Junior | Linebacker | 6-3, 220
White was part of the Rebels 2022 signing class and was a depth player for the linebackers room. He saw action all three seasons in Oxford and in 2024 he played in all 13 games and assisted with one tackle. This one hurts a little with the loss of Chris Paul, Jr., too, as the room loses depth with White on the move to Stillwater.
Mana Taimani (Colorado) | Graduate | Offensive Lineman | 6-4, 345
A transfer from Diablo Valley College after the 2022 season, Taimani was primarily a special teams player. He played in 12 games in 2023 and four games this year and is now off to play for Deion Sanders in Boulder.
AJ Brown (Georgia Southern) | Junior | Cornerback | 6-1, 195
A member of the 2023 signing class Brown played in all 13 games for Ole Miss that season, though that dropped off this year. Brown played in the season opener against Furman for four snaps and that was his only action of 2024. He is returning closer to his hometown of Cordele, Georgia and joining the Eagles in 2025.
