WATCH/LISTEN: Spirit alum Sudu Upadhyay just can’t bring himself to pick Ole Miss over Georgia
In this edition of The Flagship, a part of the Talk of Champions podcast network, Ben Garrett (OMSpirit/On3) is joined by Spirit alum Sudu Upadhyay (Fox 5 Atlanta) to preview Ole Miss-Georgia.
The No. 10-ranked Rebels (8-1, 6-1 SEC) kick off in Athens against the top-ranked Bulldogs (9-0, 6-0) on Saturday at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN. Georgia is the back-to-back, defending national champion and hasn’t lost a home game in nearly 1,500 days.
But as Dany O’Shea told his Little Giants, all it takes is one time, and Sudu’s beloved Rebels are on a heater as winners of five in a row. Another would mean rocket fuel for their College Football Playoff resume.
“These are the only two teams I watch this closely,” Upadhyay said. “I watch every Ole Miss game, and I watch every Georgia game. Every snap for both teams, so I’ve seen it all.

“With that information, it’s hard for me to say, ‘OK, Ole Miss is going to come in here and upset Georgia.’ This is a very, very good Ole Miss team. I’ve enjoyed seeing the journey Dart has taken from last season to this season. All the credit to Lane Kiffin with what he’s been able to do. Pete Golding, what a blessing. He’s great, and I’m so glad they have him.
“But in order to beat Georgia, you can’t just be good. You gotta be elite. Next year at the Vaught? Now, that one? I’d circle that one.”
