WATCH: Ole Miss kicks off last full week of spring football practices
Ole Miss on Tuesday kicked off its last full week of spring football practices. The Ole Miss Spirit was there and able to catch some of the action, and included below are some highlights.
The Rebels will practice again on Thursday before holding the annual Grove Bowl on Saturday at 2 p.m. CT inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. The Grove Bowl — a full-team, game-like scrimmage — traditionally closes out spring practices. However, the Rebels, this year, will practice twice more.
Both are set for next week.
“I think things are going really well,” now-fourth-year Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin said following practice on Tuesday. “We had some weather to deal with Saturday, so it wasn’t ideal from a stadium standpoint. But sometimes you’re going to end up playing in that, so we made the most of it because our indoor was not available. That was good to see.

“Very pleased with some of our front-line guys and how they’re playing. We have a lot of work to do developing depth. Got a lot of work in a lot of areas, but especially defensively, ‘cause we have a brand-new system and a lot of new pieces.
“Very encouraged by where we’re at, how our staff’s come together and trying to intertwine all these new pieces. Not quite as many as a year ago.”
