WATCH: Red Zone woes in particular have plagued the Ole Miss football offense
The Ole Miss football offense just hasn’t been the same since the Rebels opened SEC play.
Second-year wide receiver Cayden Lee believes the issues really come down to one area in particular.
“I really don’t feel like we’ve struggled too much in SEC play. We just haven’t finished the best,” Lee said. “Just converting in the Red Zone area and finishing on drives.”
Ole Miss is 78th nationally in Red Zone offense. Only four teams in the SEC are worse.
“The bye week was really good collectively for our overall team, just getting back healthy,” Lee said. “I just got extra treatment — even more so than I normally would. Extra cold tubs and massages and things like that.”
Tre Harris is the Ole Miss leader in most every major receiving statistical category. He needs just 13 more yards to become the first pass-catcher in college football to hit the 1,000-yard plateau.

Lee is second, however, in receptions (27) and yards (429).
The No. 18-ranked Rebels (5-2, 1-2 SEC) host Oklahoma (4-3, 1-3) Saturday at 11 a.m. CT on ESPN.
“(Oklahoma) Coach (Brent) Venables is a defensive-minded coach. They present a good challenge,” Lee said. “But I feel like if we just continue to practice well and do the things we need to do, we’ll get the job done.”
Oklahoma is 10th in the SEC in pass defense (214.6 yards per game) but tied for third in the country with 25 sacks. R Mason Thomas is No. 3 in the SEC and No. 10 nationally with six sacks.
“He’s definitely shaking it off,” Lee said, when asked specifically about third-year Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart. “We gave it some time to just think about it as a collective team. Now we’re focused on Oklahoma.
“We can’t go back and fix what was in the past. We’re looking forward to the rest of the season.”
Lee, EDGE Jared Ivey and linebacker Chris ‘Pooh’ Paul all met the media after practice on Tuesday. Here’s everything they had to say.
