What are Ole Miss' bowl projections after a 4-0 start?
Ole Miss is off to as good a start as can possibly be with a perfect September run through its non-conference slate.
With only a third of the season completed the season is still young and all of No. 14 Ole Miss’ Southeastern Conference games are still ahead of them, starting Saturday against No. 7 Kentucky.
Still the college football bowl projections continue to roll out as the calendar flips to October. The Rebels (4-0) need only two more wins to get into the bowl eligible group. From there it is all about improving the bowl game with more wins.
Ole Miss staying close to home?
If the prognosticators are correct in September then it means the Rebels will not be traveling too far for its bowl game.
ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura — who did not have Ole Miss projected in any bowl a week ago — has the Rebels heading to Memphis for the Liberty Bowl on Dec. 28 playing Kansas.
A similar projection from CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm has Ole Miss in the Liberty Bowl but playing Kansas State.
A third projection has Ole Miss in the Volunteer State but a three hours east in Nashville. Sports Illustrated’s Richard Johnson projects the Rebels in the Music City Bowl, playing Minnesota on New Year’s Eve.

Deep in the heart of Texas
If Tennessee is not the projected destination then Texas is the next favorite for Ole Miss in December.
ESPN’s Mark Schlabach and College Football News projects the Rebels in the TaxAct Texas Bowl on Dec. 28 in Houston.
Who will play Ole Miss varies between the two projections. Schlabach projects Iowa State representing the Big 12 at NRG Stadium. The College Sporting News projects Texas to be the home team and face the Rebels.
New Years in Florida?
After having the Rebels heading to Las Vegas in early December Brett McMurphy has taken a 180-degree turn on things this week.
In McMurphy’s latest projections for Action he has the Rebels now heading to Orlando to play in the Vrbo Citrus Bowl on Jan. 2.
