What are Ole Miss' bowl projections after Week 3 win at Georgia Tech?
Ole Miss has made it through three weeks of its 2022 schedule in what seemed like a blink of an eye and remains undefeated with a strong start to September.
After its 42-0 trouncing at Georgia Tech this weekend Ole Miss is sitting at 3-0 and halfway to the magic number of six wins for bowl eligibility.
Of course the goal is not to just get to six wins and then coast the rest of the way. Ole Miss has much loftier goals than that and have started off on the right foot to earn them.
Though the schedule gets much tougher after this Saturday’s final non-conference game against Tulsa at 3 p.m. CT. A Top-10 Kentucky awaits to jumpstart October and the stretch of eight SEC opponents in the final nine weeks of the regular season.
With all that in mind it is time to take a look at where Ole Miss might go bowling in the latest projections.
Living it up in the Lone Star State
For a third straight week Ole Miss is heading to Texas, more specifically Houston, in December according to some bowl prognosticators.
ESPN’s Mark Schlabach and College Football News each have the Rebels playing in the TaxAct Texas Bowl at NRG Stadium on Dec. 28.
The differences begin with the opponents both outlets have projected to be facing Ole Miss. Schlabach has Iowa State representing the Big 12 while CFN has Baylor with a rematch of January’s Sugar Bowl.
Ole Miss returning to Nashville in December?
On Oct. 8 Ole Miss will head to Nashville and play Vanderbilt, its regular SEC East opponent, but it might night be the only time its hanging out on Broadway.
Richard Johnson of Sports Illustrated has Ole Miss playing in the TransPerfect Music City Bowl at Nissan Stadium on New Year’s Eve. The Rebels opponent is projected by Johnson to be Minnesota.

Another projection has Ole Miss staying in the Volunteer State but about three hours west in Memphis. CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm has the Rebels projected to play Kansas in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl at the Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium on Dec. 28.
Sunshine State Bound?
With Ole Miss halfway to six wins and nine game still left to play there is the strong change it will be sitting in the window of 7-9 wins — if not more — and prime picking for the Florida bowl games.
A couple outlets are thinking the same way with Sporting News and Athlon Sports placing the Rebels in the Sunshine State with their latest projections.
Sporting News has Ole Miss projected to head to Orlando and play in the Vrbo Citrus Bowl at Camping World Stadium. The Rebels see a repeat opponent for the first time in this week’s projections, playing Minnesota on Jan. 2.
In this week’s Athlon Sports projections Ole Miss is slotted to go to Jacksonville and play in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl at TIAA Bank Field against North Carolina State on Dec. 30.
The final projection this week comes from Bret McMurphy who has Ole Miss still traveling to Sin City for the SRS Distributors Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 17. The Rebels are projected to play Oregon.
It should be noted that ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura did not have the Rebels in any of his bowl projections this week. Also, there is plenty of football left and all of the Rebels meaningful games still remain ahead of them.
When the calendar turns to October the real fun begins.
