What are the final bowl projections for Ole Miss?
Ole Miss will learn its bowl destination in just a few hours from now as Saturday saw the official end of the regular season with the slate of conference championship games.
After dropping four if its final five games Ole Miss took a tumble down the projections from being a near sure-thing to play in Orlando at the newly named Cheez-It Citrus Bowl. Many had the Rebels (8-4) still heading for Disney World with a win over Mississippi State.
Instead the Egg Bowl went the way of the Bulldogs and with it the certainty of Ole Miss’ postseason plans. Over the last week and a half the prognosticators have placed the Rebels anywhere from Houston to Nashville to Jacksonville.
Yes, the chance to return to Florida for a bowl game two out of the last three seasons is still in play but it is a faint flicker of hope. If Ole Miss were to head back to the Sunshine State it would be in Jacksonville to take on somebody in the Taxslayer Gator Bowl.

But the prevailing theory over the last few days has been that Ole Miss will pack its bags and head west to the TaxAct Texas Bowl in Houston.
A New Year’s Eve date in Nashville against a Big 10 team in the Music City Bowl is also still a popular pick for the projections, though earlier in this week it was not a likely destination for Ole Miss. Another Tennessee pick is Memphis in the Liberty Bowl — it is included in the list below but the Rebels are not heading 90 minutes up the road.
The College Football Playoff matchups followed by the New Year’s Six bowls and the subsequent bowls after will begin being announced at 11 a.m. CT on ESPN. Ole Miss might learn earlier in the day if bowl information begins to leak out, as it usually does.
