The first setback of the season occurred on Saturday when Ole Miss went down to Baton Rouge and handed a 45-20 loss by LSU.
All hope is not lost for No. 15 Ole Miss (7-1, 3-1 Southeastern Conference) and all the season goals are still in front of them, but now the room for error is much smaller. Also there are the on-the-field concerns with defense that needs worked on.
But that is for this week as the Rebels hit the practice field for their Week 9 matchup at Texas A&M (3-4, 1-3), a team that is floundering and a loss away from its season skidding out if it has not already.
Ole Miss and the Aggies play at 6:30 p.m. CT on the SEC Network this Saturday.
Until then it is time to take a look at the latest round of bowl game projections. Some bowl prognosticators have altered their postseason destinations for Ole Miss while the majority stayed similar to last weeks.
One loss did not unravel the opportunity for a prime bowl game this holiday season for the Rebels, but a snowball effect could.

Ole Miss still has a sunny outlook
Despite the first blemish on the season Ole Miss still has many projections placing them in Florida for the holiday season.
ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura, CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm, Action Network’s Brett McMurphy and College Football News still project the Rebels to play in the Vrbo Citrus Bowl down in Orlando on Jan. 2.
In the SEC vs. Big Ten matchup at Camping World Stadium the opponent Ole Miss is projected to face varies among the outlets.
Bonagura and McMurphy each have Penn State slotted to face the Rebels while Palm has Purdue and College Football News has Illinois selected.
McMurphy did have Ole Miss playing in the Capital One Orange Bowl at Miami last week but a New Year’s Six bowl projection is still at play.
