What are the latest bowl projections for Ole Miss at the midway point of the season?
The halfway mark of the 2023 college football season is here and for No. 13 Ole Miss it comes at the perfect time.
With a pair of wins over LSU and Arkansas the Rebels (5-1, 2-1 Southeastern Conference) are rolling into its bye week feeling a 180-degrees better than they did coming off the loss to Alabama.
Closing out the front half of its schedule with a lot of momentum had Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin concerned about hitting pause on the season, but that was prior to last Saturday’s game against the Razorbacks.
After a couple key players got banged up in quarterback Jaxson Dart and receiver Tre Harris, Kiffin’s tune on the Rebels fall break taking place now changed.
“I think this is really good timing for a bye with Tre,” Kiffin said on Sunday during a Zoom call with the local media. “I would anticipate by the time we play (again) he’ll be fine.”
While Ole Miss is getting some much-deserved and needed rest later this week the midseason bowl projections for the Rebels will also put a smile on their collective faces.
Securing a pair of SEC wins over West Division rivals has helped Ole Miss get a strong hold on a potential bowl bid back in the Sunshine State. All of this week’s bowl projections have the Rebels playing somewhere in Florida come postseason.

The majority favorite landing spot for the Rebels is currently in Orlando, playing in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Day. Kicking off 2024 inside Camping World Stadium is where four different outlets have Ole Miss.
But who will the Rebels face in these projections? The opponent is also a popular selection with Wisconsin representing the Big Ten in the Citrus Bowl. ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura, CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm, Action Network’s Brett McMurphy and College Football News all have the Badgers and Rebels playing in Orlando.
McMurphy puts a line on his bowl projections, making Ole Miss the 5.5-point favorite over Wisconsin.
ESPN’s Mark Schlabach also has Ole Miss in Florida but about an hour or so west back in Tampa Bay to take on Louisville in the ReliaQuest Bowl.
Athlon Sports projects the Rebels to be playing further north in Jacksonville, taking on Louisville in the Gator Bowl.
