2025 4-star sets visit date to Eugene
Trey Mckenney, On3’s No. 21 prospect in the 2025 class, has scheduled seven fall visits. The high 4-star talent out of Saint Mary’s (Mich.) played AAU ball this summer for The Family and has proven why he is one of the top players in the nation. The 6’5 205-pound shooting guard averaged 22.8 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game this past season with Saint Mary’s high school. Mckenney has already taken a few official visits with Georgetown, Rutgers, and TCU, and has taken unofficial visits with Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Michigan State.
On deck this fall for the rising senior is USC on Sept. 1st, Michigan on Sept. 21st, Michigan State on Oct. 4th, Oregon on Oct. 12th, Ohio State on Oct. 26th, Notre Dame on Nov. 9th, and finally Creighton on Dec. 4th.

Early line for The Game revealed
My take on this recruitment is to continue watching both in-state programs: Michigan and Michigan State. In the past, McKenney has told On3’s Joe Tipton he, “grew up a fan of the Wolverines.” That shouldn’t discredit Michigan State in any way however as the Spartans have been present in McKenney’s recruitment since the beginning and have made him feel like a priority recruit. Georgetown is feeling solid in where they sit at the moment, as the Hoyas have been making a big push for high 4-star as well. At this time, Oregon is definitely on the outside looking in. But with a strong visit, could find themselves in this conversation.
Scouting Report
On3’s Jamie Shaw had the following to say about McKenney’s game, “Trey McKenney is a strong-framed guard. He has a sturdily-built base and a plus wingspan. McKenney had great feel for the game. He is an adept, multi-level scorer. He has range that extends beyond the arc, he shoots with consistency and good balance. What he lacks in burst, he makes up for with pace. Has a solid straight-line handle. He is a solid passer and can get his teams into sets. While he might not be the optimal height as an off-guard, McKenney is a tough and sound defender. He uses his strength and his toughness well when guarding the point of attack. He is instinctive in the passing lanes. McKenney is a productive player on both ends of the court, consistently making plays.”
