QUAAACK: 4-Star ATH Jalen Lott Commits to Oregon

Dan Lanning and the Ducks have secured another elite talent in the 2026 class, as 4-Star Lucas (Tex.) Panther Creek athlete Jalen Lott has committed to Oregon.
The 6-foot, 170-pounder announced his pledge to the Big Ten champions over social media on Tuesday afternoon, picking the Ducks over other top schools like USC, Texas, LSU and Georgia. Prior to committing to Oregon, Lott also took official visits to each of his other finalists.
For Lott, Oregon’s consistency and caliber of play left a major impression during his process.
“I’ve been up around four to five times since my freshman year Everything that Coach Lanning talked about doing three years ago they’ve done,” Lott told ScoopDuck following his official visit to Oregon. “Now (they) just have to win national championships.”
The newest Duck is the No. 54 player nationally, the No. 2 athlete and the No. 11 prospect in Texas according to the Rivals Industry ranking. Listed as an athlete, Lott has primarily been recruited to play wide receiver for the Ducks, but he also has the ability to play cornerback.
This is big news for Ross Douglas and Oregon, as the Ducks have now landed a commitments from two wide receiver prospects ranked inside the top-150 nationally. Lott joins 4-star Rochester (NY) James Monroe wide receiver Messiah Hampton in Douglas’ first wide receiver haul at Oregon.
Lott is the 14th commitment and the second Texas prospect to commit to Oregon this cycle, joining 4-star Texarkana (Tex.) Texas High running back Tradarian Ball in the Ducks’ 2026 recruiting class.

What makes this an even more significant recruiting win for Oregon is that Lott’s father, James Lott, is a Longhorn legacy. He was a defensive back at Texas and won three NCAA championships as a high jumper during his time career in Austin. he was inducted into the Longhorns Hall of Honor in 2017.
Oregon also landed an elite receiver from Texas in July last year, when 5-star Duncanville (Tex.) wide receiver Dakorien Moore chose the Ducks over Texas, LSU and Ohio State on the Fourth of July.
As a junior in 2024, Lott hauled in 85 passes for 1,111 yards and 16 receiving touchdowns (according to MaxPreps). He also ran for 106 yards and four touchdowns on 18 carries. He helped lead the Panthers to a 10-2 overall record and 5-1 record in 4A-1 Region II District 7 play. Lott was named 7-4A Division I Offensive MVP.
Like his father, Lott is an elite track and field athlete, excelling as a sprinter as well as in the high and long jump events.
