2026 cornerback Zechariah Fort of IMG Academy in Bradenton (Fla.) took his first visit to Eugene on Wednesday to see Oregon’s initial spring practice.
Fort, originally from Long Beach (Calif.), holds offers from a plethora of elite programs, including Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Tennessee, LSU, Texas A&M, USC and Oregon.
Fort told ScoopDuck that among the schools standing out to him right now are Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Florida State, USC, Oregon, Tennessee, LSU and Texas A&M.
Fort spent time last week with Oregon defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi. He was accompanied by fellow 2026 IMG Academy standouts Ksani Jiles and Keenyi Pope.

“I got the impression that at Oregon, everything is about family and hard work,” he said
Fort said Oregon’s first spring practice was an eye-opener.
“I thought the practice was great,” he said, “the way the players were competing. But what stood out was coach Lupoi’s energy during practice, how he was coaching the defense up, and how they were responding.”
Fort was also impressed by Lupoi’s football acumen.
“The defensive meetings,” Fort marveled. “Coach Lupoi’s knowledge of the game, and how the players were breaking down film.”
Even as a freshman, Fort knows that player improvement is an important factor in his college decision.
“I’m looking for a program that’s going to help me develop to play in the NFL,” he said.
Fort actually has two visits scheduled this week. He also spent a day at Oregon State.
Fort will be at Colorado this upcoming weekend and at Alabama on April 7.
