5-Star EDGE Anthony 'Tank' Jones Focused on Three Schools

On Thursday, 2026 5-star Mobile (Ala.) St. Paul’s Episcopal EDGE Anthony ‘Tank’ Jones narrowed his list of suitors to three. Oregon, Alabama and Texas A&M all made the cut, no commitment date has been set.
Jones is listed at 6’3″, 245 pounds. He’s the No. 17 player nationally, the No. 5 EDGE and the No. 1 prospect in Alabama, according to Rivals.
During the month of June Jones took official visits to Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Oregon and Texas A&M.
Oregon has one EDGE committed in its No. 7-ranked 2026 class in 3-star Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco defender Dutch Horisk. The Ducks held a commitment from 5-star Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon EDGE Richard Wesley in May, but that was short-lived as he’s since decommitted and flipped to Texas.

Jones also visited Oregon in the spring and for a game in the fall against Maryland.
“Really just the brand. I always liked Oregon when I grew up,” Jones told ScoopDuck of what stands out about the Ducks. “The coaches, they’re all hands-on. They’re all gonna pour into you and they’re gonna be there for you at all times. They’re always texting me all the time and stuff. I just like that about the coaches and the staff.”
Oregon and defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi have pushed into the state of Alabama in recent recruiting cycles. In the 2025 recruiting class the Ducks signed 5-star+ plus Birmingham (Ala.) Parker cornerback Na’eem Offord, who flipped from Ohio State in December. The Ducks also added Offord’s brother Makhi Hughes, a transfer running back from Tulane.
Alabama currently leads the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine at 31.1% for Jones.
