Can Will Richardson continue to play 40 minutes per game for Oregon? 'He's able to handle it'
Will Richardson's workload for the Oregon men's basketball program this season has bordered on the absurd. The fifth-year senior was expected to be the focal point of the Ducks' offense when the season began. He was a second-team all-conference selection a year ago and one of the Pac-12's most effective outside shooters. But due to an early-season injury crisis, Richardson has taken on an even greater role than anybody within the program expected. Through 10 games, Richardson is averaging 36.0 minutes per game. That ranks 24th nationally and second among all Pac-12 players. Over the past two weeks, though, he has seen an even greater uptick in playing time and rarely left the floor. During a five-game stretch from Nov. 25 through Dec. 10, Richardson played 199-of-200 possible minutes. "He plays 40 minutes a night every night like it's nothing," sophomore guard Brennan Rigsby said, shaking his head. "It's crazy." But is it sustainable?
