On Tuesday night, Oregon fans opened their phones to a surprise: a commitment announcement from 2025 wide receiver Dallas Wilson from Tampa Bay Tech in Florida.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound sophomore verballed to the Ducks just five hours after receiving an offer. The On3 Consensus has yet to rank Wilson, who holds offers from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida State and Penn State.

Wilson recently told ScoopDuck that he had seen his recruitment pick up recently. He talked about his early decision.

When the talented wideout got the offer, he was beside himself with excitement.

“My coach told me,” he said. “I was ecstatic and very overwhelmed, but I eventually came to my senses.

“I’m was proud of all the hard work I did to get where I am.”

Wilson has not yet been to Eugene, but he is scheduled to visit Jan. 28.

“I have never actually been there,” he said, “but I have watched YouTube videos about Oregon and their program.”

Wilson said he felt comfortable announcing before his junior season because Oregon is where he wants to be.

“Oregon has been my dream school since I was a little,” he said. “But that doesn’t mean I committed just because of that reason.

“The reason I committed to Oregon so early in the process was because I felt like family in the few minutes we had to talk. And I felt like I can relate and be in a position where my family has never been.”

Wilson said he expects some to be skeptical of his choice.

“The competition and critics keep me on my toes,” he said. “And no matter where, I go people are always going to have their opinion.”

Wilson ended the interview by saying, “My heart is set on Oregon.”
