Dan Lanning Meets with Media During Bye
On Wednesday Dan Lanning met with media coming out of practice. It was a shade under 4 minutes of Q&A with Lanning giving a lot of his simple answers to questions.
He was very brief so there isn’t a ton to go over but here are most of his top comments.
Opening Remarks:
“Good work today. Obviously we’ve got some stuff we can continue to improve on. But we changed it up a little bit during the week to challenge ourself competitively. There was a red-zone period there to finish.”
On Film Review:
“I wouldn’t say revealed a ton but there’s plenty we can work on. There’s a lot of small details. There might be a tweak in scheme. An improvement of what’s hurt us. What we can continue to work on.”
On Poncho at C:
“I thought he did some really good things. We gotta continue to work on snap accuracy. Some of those details. But overall it was positive.”

On OL’s Progress:
“I think it’s got a chance. The key is growth. We’re not the best version of us yet. And we won’t be the best version of us until hopefully the end of the season. The key is are we getting better today and better tomorrow as we continue to progress.”
On Dillon Gabriel’s Game
“He did a good job. When you’re that accurate it shows up in a game. You can hit holes when people drop eight. You can find vacancies in the zone and take advantage.”
On the bye week:
“Huge week for development. It’s getting guys playing winning football.”
On Recruiting:
“This will be a great week for us to get out there and see some guys.”
Jhop’s Take:
Pretty much what we all should have expected to hear. Not much about the win over Oregon State. Nothing about UCLA other than noting it’s not Oregon’s first road game. As expected the staff will head out this week visiting recruits and taking advantage of the bye. More than anything this is a big chance for the team to get healthy and the staff to do some recruiting.
