While Oregon’s spring game was filled with plenty of highlights and eye-popping stats, it also brought a few injury concerns.

A handful of key Ducks have been dinged up this spring, were not in uniform, and were held out of Saturday’s scrimmage entirely.

Those players were as follows:

  • Brandon Dorlus
  • Popo Aumavae
  • Keyon Ware-Hudson
  • Daymon David
  • Cam McCormick
  • Dontae Manning
  • Michael Wooten

Several others were in uniform but did not play, while punter Tom Snee and defensive lineman Kristian Williams were not listed on the spring roster that was distributed to reporters on Saturday. Ducks’ offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson suffered a scary-looking knee injury midway through the game and walked off the field under his own power, but did not return.

Cornerback Christian Gonzalez did not practice during the week when media was able to watch practice, but was full-go on Saturday.

Here is what Dan Lanning said about each of Oregon’s injured and absent players during his post-scrimmage press conference.

Tom Snee and Kristian Williams

“They’re both away from the program right now. They’re taking care of some issues for themselves,” Lanning said. “But I’m excited about what (reserve punter Will Hutchinson) did today. I know he’s had some off-and-on days there from the standpoint of operating as the punter and doing a good job there. But he had some big kicks today. Obviously, it was good to see.”

Byron Cardwell

Cardwell, Oregon’s sophomore running back and top returning rusher from last season, has been full-go for much of this spring but was not seen doing position drills or 11-on-11 work this week during the portion of practice that was open to media.

“Precautionary there with Byron,” Lanning said of Cardwell’s status.

Jackson Powers-Johnson

“JPJ looks like he’s gonna be okay,” Lanning said. “Wanna continue to get the medical professionals’ eval on that. But it sounds like he’s OK. Got to see him right there in the locker room.”
