This weekend is undoubtedly the most significant of Dan Lanning’s Oregon tenure thus far.

With National Signing Day looming, and a host of elite recruits in Eugene, Lanning and his staff have been working relentlessly to add to the Ducks’ ’22 class.

On Saturday, Lanning spoke at halftime of the Oregon men’s basketball team’s rivalry matchup with Oregon State — with some top-end talent in attendance as well.

Lanning spoke for the better part of two minutes and gave a passionate speech to spark the crowd. Here is everything Lanning said during his first public appearance in Eugene since becoming the Ducks’ head coach.

“What an absolute honor to be here tonight. What an absolute honor to be an Oregon Duck. I can tell you right now this place is special, and I’m so honored to represent the green and yellow… This place is really, really, really special. I want you to know it means a lot to me, the honor we’ve received; my wife and our three boys.

“I’m thrilled to be here. This day is special for me; I haven’t seen them since the national championship. We plan on being a championship force here, I can tell you that right now.

“I’ll say this: in our program, we don’t believe it’s one thing that gets it done. It’s everything. Every day is about one, plus one, plus one, plus one until all of those ones add together and make a difference.

“The one thing I think that makes Oregon different that everybody here needs to understand is we have the most passionate fans in the nation.

“So I wanna see that passion, I wanna see that energy on April 23 at 1 p.m. in Autzen Stadium for our Spring Game. I promise you we’re gonna put a product on the field that you’re gonna be proud of. We’re gonna have a team that you can be proud of with the way we operate day in and day out.

“But before that, we’ve got some business to finish tonight. SO let’s finish his thing the right way, and let’s finish this thing with a, ‘GO DUCKS!'”
