Dan Lanning: "There's going to be more opportunities for guys."
On Monday night Dan Lanning had his weekly press conference with media. Lanning was asked about obvious injuries to Tez Johnson and Marcus Harper. He didn’t give an explicit answer but did mention he expects both back this season.
Later on he was asked about a return from Dave Iuli, Jahlil Florence and Gary Bryant Jr. Again no specifics but did state he expects them all to play this season.

Opening Statement:
“Obviously coming off an exciting win. I want to make sure I take the opportunity to thank our fans that made the trip across the country to that game. It made it special seeing so much green.”
On Tez Johnson & Marcus Harper Injuries:
“As soon as they’re ready to go we’re going to have them out there. Player safety first. Tez will be down certainly in the near future but I do anticipate us getting Tez back here soon. Same with Marcus. Neither one of those injuries are as bad as they appeared on the field and I think we’ll have those guys back but I don’t know what that looks like right now. But we’ll do what we always do which is take care of the players and their best interest.”
On the Decision to Score at the End:
“Ultimately they had a timeout if they utilized it. There’s an opportunity for them to stop it. So you’re trying to assess if he was going to use one or not. At some point that could happen to us as well. I’ve got a ton of respect for coach Moore and what he’s done. You can feel bad but as a competitor you want to do your best to score.”

On who replaces Tez:
“I’m confident we have a plan. There’s a lot of guys that can play winning football for us on Saturday. As for who that will be I’m going to leave that in house. There’s going to be more opportunities for guys. We’ll see what it looks like when they’re out there.”
On Kyler Kasper Returning: (this season)
“I don’t know that he will. Again we’ll always put the player first. He’s trying to rehab his way back. If he’s able to, fantastic.”
On Maryland’s Offense:
“They create a lot of explosive plays. Their quarterback is delivering the ball really well right now.”
Will Jahlil Florence, Dave Iuli, Gary Bryant Jr be available this year? (Do you expect them to)
“Yeah I do.”
On Signing Day Coming Up:
“Recruiting always matters. And it’s something you can’t just do sometimes, you gotta do it all the time. Players across the country are able to see what our players are doing and know that they want to be a part of that. It always matters and that’s just part of the landscape of college football. We want to be the team that can manage the best.”
