Dana Altman Previews Pac-12 Tournament
Oregon men’s basketball gets started on the Pac-12 tournament this week. While the tournament opens up on Wednesday, Oregon won’t play until Thursday.
The Ducks will wait for the winner of the Washington State vs Cal contest to open up play.
On Tuesday Dana Altman talked about getting prepared for the tournament in Las Vegas just ahead of his teams departure. Here are some of the top quotes from his quick media session.
On N’Faly Dante’s Pac-12 Award:
“Happy for him. He was in early and stayed late all season. First year that he’s been here that he’s been really healthy. For the most part he’s been there every day. I’m glad to see him be rewarded for it.”
On Teams Preparation:
“Individuals have done a good job. We haven’t seen the consistency that we’ve seen from some of our other teams. I don’t know if guys recognize the importance of it.”
On Will Richardson’s Pac-12 Award:
“Without a doubt I was hoping he’d be a little higher than that. He’s fought through injuries and hasn’t scored in some games because of those injuries. He’s battled.”

On Preparing for the Tournament:
“They were excited about playing yesterday. We know it’s a difficult road. I think there are a few teams this year that are underrated from a national perception.”
On Not Knowing Opponent:
“You get yourself ready. We’ve got both teams scouted. We’ve played both of them recently. It’s not that much of an adjustment.”
Injury Updates:
“Luk (Wur) was able to go through non-contact yesterday. Brennan’s (Rigsby) out. We’ll be as healthy as we’ve been all year. That’s encouraging. If we’re going to make a run, having depth will be big.”
