Devin Jackson Commits to Oregon, Ducks Land Standout Florida Safety

Oregon continues to heat up on the recruiting trail, as 2026 4-star Winter Garden (Fla.) The First Academy safety Devin Jackson has committed to the Ducks.
The 6-foot-2, 195-pound defensive back chose Oregon from a top five that also included Miami, Nebraska, LSU and Florida. He took official visits to each of his finalists in June, with the exception of Florida. He took an unofficial visit to Gainesville.
Jackson was committed to Billy Napier and the Gators from August 2024 to April 2025, before deciding to reopen his recruitment.
Jackson is ranked the No. 218 player nationally, the No. 21 safety and the No. 32 prospect in Florida according to the On3 Industry rankings. As a junior in 2024, Jackson totaled 80 tackles, seven pass breakups, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble across 10 games according to MaxPreps. The Florida native was highlighted as one of Rivals’ top 10 overall performers from the OT7 playoffs last month.

He’s the 14th overall commitment for the Ducks in the 2026 recruiting class. The Sunshine State standout is also the third safety to commit to Chris Hampton and Oregon this cycle, joining On3 Industry 5-star Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman safety Jett Washington and On3 Industry 4-star Melbourne (Fla.) Eau Gallie safety Xavier Lherisse in the secondary.
Jackson believes the Oregon staff can develop him
“Just how down to earth the coaches are,” he told ScoopDuck of what stood out on his first trip to Eugene this spring. “How they produce, their background of players they get to the NFL and they get drafted. They do a good job of developing players and getting them to the next level and I definitely want to be a part of something like that.”
The addition of the Florida product marks the third commitment for Oregon this week, as the Ducks also secured verbal pledges from 3-star Honolulu (HI) Farrington interior offensive lineman Koloi Keli, and 4-star San Francisco (Calif.) Archbishop Riordan interior offensive lineman Tommy Tofi, who both flipped from Cal to Oregon.
