ROSEMONT, Ill. — Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel and wide receiver Tez Johnson were included on the 2024 Big Ten Football Preseason Honors list announced by the conference on Tuesday, ahead of the start of Big Ten Football Media Days at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

A media panel selected the 12-player preseason list, with Oregon joining Ohio State and Michigan as teams with multiple representatives. The Ducks will take their turn at Big Ten Football Media Days on Thursday, where Gabriel will be joined by head coach Dan Lanning, tight end Terrance Ferguson and inside linebacker Jeffrey Bassa.

Gabriel joined the Ducks this offseason as a sixth-year transfer from Oklahoma, and he enters 2024 in a tie for fourth in NCAA history in career total touchdowns (152) while ranking seventh in total yards (15,925) and eighth in both passing yards (14,865) and passing touchdowns (125). He was a unanimous all-Big 12 first-team selection for the Sooners in 2023, completing 266-of-384 passes for 3,660 yards and 30 touchdowns while rushing for 373 yards and a team-high 12 touchdowns.

His 1,182 receiving yards ranked third in single-season history while his 10 receiving touchdowns tied for fourth, and his 11 receptions for 172 yards in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl both ranked No. 2 in UO bowl game history. Johnson had a career-high 12 receptions on Nov. 4 vs. California, tying for the third-most in UO single-game history.

Gabriel, Johnson and the Ducks will open preseason camp on July 31, exactly one month before kicking off their inaugural season as members of the Big Ten Conference against Idaho on Aug. 31 in Autzen Stadium (4:30 p.m. PT, Big Ten Network).
