On Tuesday Oregon student-athletes met with media following the morning practice. Quarterback Dillon Gabriel was asked right out of the gate about the discussion centered around his decision to leave Oklahoma and who’s decision it ultimately was.

Gabriel was also asked about UCLA, the bye week and more. Read below or watch the video included.

On Oklahoma Transfer Talk:

“Honestly it’s so far gone I just know God’s got me right where I need to be. I’ve got a smile on my face every day because I’m in Eugene, Oregon, around a bunch of great guys. Of course those are guys that are my brothers for life and guys I played with. There’s people I still talk to on the team, players-wise. You focus on what you can control and that’s right where I’m at. I’m happy.”

Improvements During Bye Week:

“I’d just say a lot of time together. A lot of competition. A lot of good on good. I think naturally when you create those competitive environments you grow from it. I loved the way the guys competed in the bye week.”

On Offensive Growth:

“Just gotta emphasize it. A bye week can be utilized in a good way. But we’re just focused on getting better. It was good for us.”

On UCLA:

“Super athletic. A team that plays really hard. We’ll have our hands full.”

On Poncho at Center: (Improving snaps)

“Good. I think it’s just a naturally hard transition for anyone. The consistency has been there and we have ultimate trust in him.”

Jhop’s Take:

I think Gabriel answered that question about Oklahoma like a pro. But you can tell he absolutely loves being in Eugene. Something we heard from Bo Nix as well in his time here. This offense is looking to take another step forward and they talked about the run game. While it was improved against Oregon State I think the Ducks will take another step forward this week at UCLA.
