Dan Lanning got a bit of good news on Monday evening. The nation’s No. 1 ranked tight end in the 2026 class named an early top six which included the Ducks.

Reidsville (N.C.) tight end Kendre Harrison announced via social media Oregon, North Carolina, Tennessee, Penn State, Florida State and Miami made the cut. The 6-foot-6, 250-pounder is the No. 1 ranked tight end and No. 6 overall player in the On3 Industry Rankings.

The current plan is for Harrison to play basketball at the next level as well.

North Carolina has the early edge for the in-state star currently according to the On3 RPM.

Here is what Harrison told On3’s Chad Simmons about Oregon after making the top six.

“I talk with the Oregon coaches almost every day. It is Oregon too and it is a great opportunity. I just need to get up there and visit. They have history with tight ends, they develop players well and I feel they could develop me there.”

The five-star also said he does not plan on making a commitment in the 2024 calendar year.
