Elite Four-Star OT Kelvin Obot Names Final Five

A lot of the talk in offensive tackle recruiting for Oregon has been centered around Jackson Cantwell and Immanuel Iheanacho. Which is understandable given they are elite five-star recruits.
However Oregon has also found themselves in the final five for another elite offensive tackle. Fruitland (Idaho) offensive tackle Kelvin Obot has just announced a final five of Oregon, Michigan, Utah, Nebraska and USC.
The 6-foot-6, 300-pounder is the nation’s No. 69 ranked player in the On3 Industry Rankings. He is the No. 7 ranked offensive tackle in those same rankings. However with On3’s own rankings he is the No. 9 ranked player nationally and No. 3 ranked offensive tackle.

Oregon already has one elite offensive tackle commit in Mater Dei (Calif.) standout Kodi Greene.
The Ducks will host Jackson Cantwell this weekend for an official visit during the Spring game. His commitment is set soon after on April 30. If the Ducks can land his commitment they likely will be out of the race for Obot moving forward. If they don’t land Cantwell they might consider making a bigger push for the star from Idaho.
On3’s Steve Wiltfong had this to say about Oregon with the four-star.
“Regarding Oregon who’s been considered the front-runner much of Obot’s process: “Oregon just runs a great program all in all.”
