ESPN Projects Oregon to Host SEC Super-Power in Playoffs
As the weeks roll on the predictions and projections continue to change. With Oregon’s big win and 3-0 start, the Ducks are looking like the runner-up in the Big Ten behind Ohio State.
While a first round bye would be ideal, it wouldn’t be all bad hosting your first round matchup. And that’s what ESPN has predicted for Oregon following the OSU win.
In the latest installment, Oregon would enter as the No. 8 seed and would host their also predicted No. 9 seed Alabama. Yes that’s right, Dan Lanning would get another shot at Kalen Deboer to start the playoff run. This would be a must-watch game in Eugene, likely fetching even higher prices than the Ohio State game is currently getting.
The top four seeds would be:
- Texas
- Ohio State
- Miami
- Kansas State
Other games include:
12. Northern Illinois vs 5. Georgia
11. Missouri vs 6. Ole Miss
10. Penn State vs 7. USC
Of interest, ESPN has Boise State finishing as the No. 2 team in the G5 behind Northern Illinois.
They did not predict winners of these matchups.
