ESPN Updates Predictions for National Championship Winners
Oregon has not played a football game in just under 20 days now. Since the Big Ten championship game on December 7 Oregon has watched as other teams have competed for the chance to play the No. 1 seed Ducks.
As we know, Ohio State blasted Tennessee last weekend and in six days they’ll meet again in Los Angeles for the Rose bowl. We’ve known all along the path to a national championship would never be easy for the Ducks. The one seed was basically punished for superior play this season and now face a tough Ohio State followed by some other potential tough opponents.
ESPN has adjusted Oregon’s odds of winning a national championship based on these factors. The predictions are based on ESPN’s SP+ rankings. Right now Oregon has the third best odds of winning a national championship.
Ironically enough, Ohio State is the favorite.
- Ohio State 19.8%
- Texas 19.6%
- Oregon 17.6%
- Penn State 14.5%
- Georgia 14.2%
- Notre Dame 13.1%

- Arizona State 0.4%
