Five-Star EDGE Elijah Rushing Sets Commitment Date

As Oregon enters a key July recruiting period, one of the top names on Oregon’s board is set to commit.
Salpointe Catholic (Ariz.) EDGE Elijah Rushing has set a July 6 commitment date. His commitment is set to air on the 247Sports YouTube channel. The listed time of the announcement is 2 PM PST.
The 6-foot-6, 225-pounder is the No. 30 ranked player in the On3 Industry Rankings. He is the No. 8 ranked player with 247Sports and No. 50 ranked player with On3.
Currently Oregon leads the On3 RPM at 70.5%. That pick is largely fueled by my Oregon prediction made back on March 8. It remains the first and only pick on 247Sports or On3 currently.

In the month of June Rushing took official visits to Oregon, Arizona, Notre Dame and Tennessee. He has visited Oregon at least 5 different times and Arizona at least 8 times. Both figure to be heavy factors leading up to his commitment.
Following his recent official to Oregon, Rushing had this to say about the Ducks.
“The relationships are probably the biggest thing to me with Oregon,” Rushing told ScoopDuck. “That’s one of the biggest things about my recruitment. And Oregon has done a great job building those relationships with me and my family.”
On3 Scouting Report
Tall, rangy pass rusher with projectable tools. Has a big frame for a rising junior, checking in at 6-foot-5.8, 224 pounds prior to his junior season. Had a good sophomore year, tallying 7.5 sacks while primarily playing defensive end in a three-man front. Shows disruptive qualities both as a pass rusher and pursuit defender. Plays with good bend, particularly for a taller prospect. Posted encouraging athletic testing marks in the combine setting. Will need to continue to add functional strength as he fills out his frame and progresses as a player.
