Former Auburn quarterback announces he will transfer to Oregon
Dan Lanning has landed the first major transfer portal acquisition of his Oregon tenure.
Former Auburn quarterback Bo Nix is transferring to Oregon, the junior announced Sunday afternoon.
Nix will reunite in Eugene with Oregon’s newly-hired offensive coordinator, Kenny Dillingham, who coached Nix during the 2019 season while serving as Auburn’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
During that season, which was Nix’s true freshman campaign, he was named the SEC freshman of the year after throwing for 2,524 yards and scoring 23 total touchdowns.

However, Nix has not quite found the same success that he did during that debut season. In 2021, he played 10 games and threw 11 touchdowns and three interceptions while passing at a 61 percent clip. He suffered a season-ending ankle injury in November that required surgery.
With the addition of Nix, the Ducks now have four scholarship quarterbacks including freshman Robby Ashford, Jay Butterfield, and Ty Thompson.
