Former Oregon Cornerback Khyree Jackson Passes Away at 24
Minnesota Vikings cornerback and former Oregon Duck Khyree Jackson passed away early Saturday morning after he was involved in a three-car accident in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
According to Maryland State Police, Jackson, 24, was one of three victims traveling in a car that was hit by a driver traveling at high speed.
Former Penn State cornerback A.J. Lytton, 24, and former Charlotte defensive back Isaiah Hazel, 23, were also in the vehicle with Jackson and did not survive the accident. Maryland State Police reported that Jackson was riding in the front passenger seat when the accident occurred. Hazel was driving the car, while Lytton was seated in the back.
The three were in a Dodge Charger that was struck by a silver Infiniti traveling at a high speed while attempting to change lanes. None of the three passengers in the Infiniti were injured.
The other vehicle was a Chevrolet Impala and the lone passenger, the driver, escaped unharmed.
Authorities say the Charger Jackson was in went off the road before it hit multiple tree stumps and came to a stop. Investigators believe that alcohol “may have been a contributing circumstance to the crash.”
