Former Oregon Duck Chris Duarte named to NBA All-Rookie Second Team
Former Oregon Duck Chris Duarte delivered one of the better seasons of any rookie in 2021/22 and has now been recognized for it.
Duarte, a first-year guard with the Indiana Pacers, was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team, the league announced on Wednesday.
Duarte is the first Pacer named to an All-Rookie team since Myles Turner in 2016.
In 55 games this season, Duarte averaged 13.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.0 steals in 28 minutes per game. He also made 94 three-pointers on 36.9 percent shooting from downtown.
Duarte is joined on the NBA All-Rookie Second Team by Josh Giddey, Herb Jones, Ayo Dosunmu, and Bones Hyland. The first team featured Scottie Barnes, Cade Cunningham, Evan Mobley, Franz Wagner, and Jalen Green.

In two seasons at Oregon, Duarte averaged 14.9 points per game and started all 54 games he played in.
During his standout senior season in 2020-21, Duarte was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year by the Associated Press and was an all-conference defensive first-team selection while reading the Ducks with 17.9 points per game. He was tabbed by Sports Illustrated as a second-team All-American and went on the be selected No. 13 overall by the Pacers in 2021.
