It’s reported the deal is 4 years for $112 million with $85 million of it guaranteed.
Sewell was drafted by the Lions in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft. He was the No. 7 overall selection in that draft. He’s been a mainstay at right tackle for the Lions since his arrival. He’s been to two Pro-Bowls and was a first team All-pro offensive lineman last season.
The former standout from Desert Hills High school in Utah played at Oregon in 2018 and played only two seasons for the Ducks. He opted out of the 2020 shortened Covid season and entered the NFL draft. However in only two seasons at Oregon, Sewell still managed to win an Outland Trophy award in 2019 and the Morris Trophy.
Despite already playing three years in the NFL, Sewell is still only 23 years old.
