Former Oregon WR coach Bryan McClendon reportedly close to becoming Miami co-OC
It sounds as though Bryan McClendon has found his next coaching stop.
McClendon, who served as Oregon’s wide receivers coach the past two seasons and was the Ducks’ interim coach for the 2021 Alamo Bowl, is reportedly set to join Mario Cristobal’s staff at Miami.
Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports reported Monday that McClendon is close to finalizing a deal to become Miami’s co-offensive coordinator.
McClendon was one of the top recruiters in the Pac-12 during his time with the Ducks and was primarily responsible for bringing the likes of Troy Franklin, Dont’e Thornton, and a host of other talented players to Oregon.
On Monday, McClendon published a goodbye letter of sorts from his Twitter account that seemed to officially indicate that his time at Oregon is over.

There has been wide speculation over the past few weeks that if Oregon did not retain McClendon, then some of the Ducks’ talented young offensive players might follow him out the door. That has not happened to date; cornerback DJ James and defensive tackle Jayson Jones are the only players to transfer away from the program since Cristobal’s departure.
Late Monday, Oregon officially announced the hire of Junior Adams as wide receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator.
