One of the Ducks top defensive line recruiting targets has set a commitment date.

Chandler (Ariz.) defensive lineman A’Mauri Washington posted on his Instagram page (in his bio) a commitment date of September 6. Washington also confirmed the report via text.

The 6-foot-3, 320-pounder is the No. 176 ranked player in the country per the On3 Consensus Rankings. Washington is the No. 3 ranked player from the state of Arizona.

On July 1, A’Mauri Washington named a final three of Oregon, Oklahoma and LSU. He later included Florida in his group of finalists.

Oregon is currently the overwhelming favorite in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The Ducks have a 92.3% chance to land the highly-coveted four-star from Arizona. That percentage is largely fueled by a prediction from myself back in late April and the frequency of visits to Oregon.

Washington had this to say on Oregon to On3’s Chad Simmons back in May.

“Oregon is definitely recruiting me the hardest,” Washington told On3. “The way they recruit me shows me I am on top of their board. They have shown me and told me they want me to be there.”

Washington Scouting Report

Big-bodied interior defender that blows up plays consistently up the middle with burst and violence. Totaled 13 tackles and six sacks last season at defensive tackle. Can get vertical in a hurry and has the foot speed and balance to run to the football. Plays low to the ground and has loose hips to gain leverage consistently. Does not look to have great overall height and length, but will be disruptive at the next level along the interior as long as he can maintain his weight and get stronger. Plays for one of the top high school programs in the western United States.
