Four-Star QB Michael Van Buren Sets Decision Date
Oregon has cast a relatively small net at quarterback in this recruiting cycle. But one of those main targets has set a decision date for July.
According to Brian Dohn of 247Sports, four-star quarterback Michael Van Buren has set a commitment date of July 8. He has not announced any finalists or top schools. He has made a half dozen or more visits to Maryland and Penn State. The Ducks have hosted Van Buren twice as well and figure to get him back on campus this Spring. Rutgers also seems to be a factor in his recruitment.

Personal Life Info
Baltimore St. Francis Academy coach Messay Hailemariam likes to tell a story that demonstrates the type of character his star quarterback Michael Van Buren has. After throwing four touchdowns in his first varsity start – against California powerhouse Concord De La Salle – Hailemariam said Van Buren helped him wash the team’s uniforms. “He was helping with the laundry,” Hailemariam told 247Sports. “That’s the type of guy he is. The type of leader. He is the whole package. From day one, he has been very coachable. He’s extremely humble but he’s confident. He had a different swag to him.” Away from football, Van Buren likes listening to Lil Durk and his favorite food are fruit snacks. He plans on majoring in physical education. His parents are Monique Walker and Michael Van Buren Sr.
