Georgia Surges for 5-Star DL Aydin Breland
One of Oregon’s top recruiting targets is set to come off the board. On October 14, five-star defensive lineman Aydin Breland will make his commitment. His three finalists are Oregon, Georgia and Miami.
The 6-foot-4, 300-pounder is the No. 36 ranked player in the On3 Industry Rankings. Breland is the No. 5 ranked defensive lineman.
Prior to today, Oregon was just behind Georgia in the On3 RPM. The Dawgs were favored at 26% compared to Oregon’s 20%. However today that took a big turn with a new prediction.
DawgsHQ.com insider Jake Rowe put in a 60% confidence pick for Breland on Thursday. That pick shifted the On3 RPM from 26% to now 77% in favor of Georgia. There is currently one prediction on his 247Sports profile from Georgia Insider Kipp Adams.

Here is part of the explanation from Rowe on his new prediction.
“A source told DawgsHQ earlier this week that Breland is really fond of the way Georgia is talking about using him, which is similar to the way it used Jalen Carter and Devonte Wyatt and currently uses Brinson and Jordan Hall. He’s a guy they see being able to help right away in the sub package while learning the three-technique spot.”
Earlier this week I updated my position on Breland ahead of his decision. I have yet to make a pick on his profile.
On3 Scouting Report:
Pass-rushing defensive lineman with rare movement skills for his size. Measured in at around 6-foot-4.5, 320 pounds in the off-season prior to his senior season. Has good length for the position with arms over 33 inches. Has a naturally large frame, with his weight fluctuating between 280 and 320 pounds for most of his high school career. Typically lines up at defensive end for SoCal powerhouse Mater Dei. Moves like a much smaller player. Pushes the pocket with his speed to power. Bowls offensive tackles into the backfield on contact. Has the strength to stack and shed linemen to make plays against the run. Tracks down plays with his notable pursuit athleticism. Punishes offenses for leaving him unblocked. Also participates in track and field. Turned in a personal best throw of 46-6 feet in the shot put as a sophomore. Works as a rotational player for Mater Dei and is not as productive as most other blue chip defensive linemen to this point. Finished his junior season with 24 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and 4 sacks. Older for the cycle, turning 19 years old in January of his senior year.
