Instant Recap: #13 Oregon falls to #17 Purdue at home
The Ducks are hosting No. 17 Purdue for a top 20 matchup, and are favored with a line of -2.5. Purdue comes in ranked as the No. 14 team in the Net, and No. 10 on KenPom. The Boilermakers feature wins over Alabama, and Ole Miss as their best two wins of the season. Purdue is 3-4 against Quad 1 opponents this season, and is yet to win a Quad 1 game on the road or at a neutral site. Oregon comes into the game ranked No. 21 in the Net, and No. 25 in KenPom rankings. The Ducks are 1-2 at home against Quad 1 and 2 opponents this season.
First Half:
Starting for Purdue: Braden Smith, Fletcher Loyer, C.J. Cox, Trey Kaufman-Renn, and Caleb Furst. Oregon running with the same lineup of Shelstad, Bamba, Tracey, Angel, and Bittle.
Jackson Shelstad hits a deep three to give the Ducks the 6-3 lead over Purdue, he’s been extremely hot from deep recently.
At the first media timeout, Oregon leads 6-5 with 15:37 remaining in the first half. A flagrant is called on Nate Bittle, and I can’t say I disagree, accidental but still a ton of contact to the head.
Ducks with a ton of miscues early including some defensive lapses and have struggled to rebound.
Nate Bittle knocks down a three and the game is tied at 14 a piece, under 10 to go. The next offensive possession Brandon Angel gives Oregon the 16-14 lead. Unfortunately, Brandon Angel picks up his second foul prior to another media timeout. Oregon leads 16-14 with 9:30 left in the first half.
At the next media timeout, the game is tied at 19, 7:14 remaining in the half. TJ Bamba gets the steal and while falling out of bounds, wisely calls timeout.
Nate Bittle just recorded his 4th block of the first half, extremely good defensive performance so far from him.
After a beautiful layup on one end, TJ Bamba makes another smart play throwing the ball off of Purdue.
Supreme Cook picks up his first foul of the game, and the broadcast heads to a media timeout. Ducks lead Purdue 27-25 with 3:51 to play in the first half.

Oregon leads 31-30 at the half. Ducks playing good defense but HAVE to get more rebounds.
Both teams have shot below 37% thus far, and both are below 30% from downtown. Oregon would be ahead by 7 or 8 right now if they could be more disciplined on the boards. They are losing the rebound battle 16-19, but have only 3 offensive boards, compared to Purdue’s 8.
Second Half:
After some really poor foul calls, both Jadrian Tracey, and Brandon Angel have three fouls. Caleb Furst also has three for Purdue. The Boilermakers lead Oregon 36-33 with 15:35 left in the contest.
Oregon has gone more than 6 minutes without points, yet only trails by three…until Purdue hits a big three. Now 7 minutes without points before a media timeout. Oregon trailing 33-39 with 11:53 to go.
Finally the Oregon drought ends with a Jadrian Tracey three, and the Ducks trail by 5.
Jackson Shelstad hits a huge corner three, and it’s a 1 point game at MKA.
TJ Bamba just cannot hit a shot, and he’s had several wide-open looks. Ducks trail 41-46 with 7:18 left.
Oregon has 7 turnovers and 4 made shots in the second half. Disgusting effort.
Ducks back within four, with 3:32 remaining, 48-52.
Jadrian Tracey gets called for a flagrant foul, I’m not really sure that I agree with it.
Nate Bittle hits a three off the assist from Shesltad, but it is more than likely too little, too late. Ducks trail 51-59 with a little over a minute remaining.
Nate Bittle now hits another big three, cutting the lead to 6. Jackson Shelstad able to get a steal too and he is fouled. Jackson Shelstad cuts the Purdue lead down to 4 points.
This one is over, Ducks fall to Purdue 58-65.
