Instant Recap: Oregon defeats Troy 82-61
The Ducks were back in action Sunday afternoon, following a short four day break since the Portland game. The Ducks again were without Junior College transfer Dezdrick Lindsay, International Junior Oleksandr Kobzystyi, and walk-on Andre Warren. Coming into the game, Toledo transfer guard Ra’Heim Moss popped up as questionable. Supreme Cook was also listed as questionable, but would play. The Ducks were favored over the Trojans by 12.5, despite their near blunder against Portland.
First Half
Ducks inserted Jadrian Tracey into the starting lineup ahead of this matchup, moving Kwame Evans Jr to the bench. No other changes for Oregon however. Troy starts Marcus Rigsby Jr, Tayton Conerway, Thomas Dowd, Myles Rigsby, and Jackson Fields.
The Ducks led at the first media timeout nearly 5 minutes in, 6-0. 15:51 to go in the first half, Ducks look much better to start the game.
Troy wouldn’t score it’s first field goal until there was 13:29 remaining in the half. Ducks led 12-3 by this point. Georgetown transfer Supreme Cook checked in for the first time this season shortly after.
After Supreme Cook was fouled trying to get to the hoop, it’s another media timeout. Oregon leads 15-6 with 10:49 remaining in the first half. Big transition three from Keeshawn Barthelemy a minute ago, hopefully he continues his hot streak from last game. Barthelemy leads all scorers with 5 thus far.
Off of the inbounds pass from the media timeout, Supreme Cook catches a lob and throws it down for his first points as an Oregon Duck. Will be a difference-maker for the Ducks. In the middle of writing this, Supreme Cook gets another slam, Ducks now up 21-6 following a TJ Bamba layup. 9:49 remaining in the half, 9-0 over the last 1:30.
Ducks lead 23-8 with 7:57 remaining in the half, yet another media timeout. Jackson Shelstad is really starting to concern me, seems to have taken a step back.
Oregon now leading 29-17 at the next media timeout, with 3:20 left in the half. Keeshawn Barthelemy leading the Ducks in scoring with 8, he is a perfect 3/3 from the field.
Ducks are leading 38-23 at the half, last minute was pretty bad for Oregon however. Keeshawn Barthelemy leading all scorers with 13 off the bench. Barthelemy is still perfect from the field, shooting 4/4, and knocking down all 3 FTs. Rough first half for Jackson Shelstad and Jadrian Tracey, Shelstad 0/3, all of which have been from deep. Shelstad has been solid despite not scoring though, grabbing 5 rebounds and recording 4 assists.Tracey is 1/7 currently and 0/4 from deep, but has 2 rebounds and 2 assists.
TJ Bamba and Nate Bittle both have 6 points, Brandon Angel with 5. Supreme Cook has come off the bench and immediately helped the Ducks, he has 6 points and 5 rebounds at the break. Nobody else other than Barthelemy and S. Cook have scored off the bench, which isn’t great. Seems like the Ducks opted to proceed with caution regarding Ra’Heim Moss. Moss was a surprise popping up as questionable before the game. True Freshman Jamari Phillips has picked up minutes in his absence.
Another important note, as I mentioned earlier that Kwame Evans Jr wasn’t in the starting lineup. He might be in the dog house with Dana right now, completely disappeared in the game against Portland. Showed a lack of effort when getting in the game early, but seemed to pick it up the further in the game we went. He is yet to shoot the ball but has 2 rebounds, an assist, and two fouls.
Ducks held Troy to 9/35 (25.7%) from the field, and 2/16 (12.5%) from beyond the arc. Oregon shot 14/31 (45.2%) from the field, and 4/13 (30.8%) from deep. They were also a perfect 6/6 from the charity stripe.

Second Half
Oregon expands their lead to 19, up 46-27 with 15:25 left to play. Shelstad still scoreless, Bamba up to 9, and Angel now with 8.
At the next media timeout with 11:49 remaining, the Ducks now lead 56-33. Oregon in the midst of an 8-2 run over the last 3:09. With 10:39 remaining, Kwame Evans Jr gets a quick steal, and Jamari Phillips pays it off with a beautiful pass to Kwame for the fast break layup. Evans has been far more active in this second half, Dana has to love this effort.
Ducks up 62-40 with 7:22 to play. At times haven’t looked great in the second half, but have still held it together. Keeshawn Barthelemy still leads the team in scoring despite only taking one shot on the second half. TJ Bamba up to 11 points, both Angel and Bittle with 10 now. Nate Bittle is closing in on a double-double with his 8 rebounds tonight, also with 3 blocks.
Supreme Cook with an and-one, and makes the free throw. 11 points and 5 rebounds now for Cook in his Oregon debut. 69-46 lead for Oregon with 3:56 to play at Matthew Knight Arena.
Ducks now up 79-56, 1:29 to play. Was nearly a 30 point lead a little bit ago before Troy got a few quick buckets. Walk-ons James Cooper, Drew Carter, and Jayson Williams-Johnson get into the game this afternoon.
Oregon wins 82-61 with a rather dominant game over Troy.
Keeshawn Barthelemy led the way, coming off the bench, scoring 15 points on 4/6 on the game. TJ Bamba with 13 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and two steals. Nate Bittle finishes a bit shy of a double-double with 12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 3 blocks. Supreme Cook in a limited amount of playing time recorded 11 points and 5 rebounds, he will be a major difference maker for the Ducks this season. Brandon Angel added another 10 points, and 2 rebounds, I think Oregon would like him to be more physical on the boards.
Jadrian Tracey started 1/7 this game and finished 3/9 with 6 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. For his first start he would likely tell you he wasn’t happy with the way he shot the ball, but Tracey was still able to fill the stat sheet. Jackson Shelstad went scoreless this afternoon on 0/4 shooting. Shelstad was fine outside of the shooting woes, recording 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and a steal tonight. Kwame Evans Jr came off the bench in this contest and recorded 6 points, 5 rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
Ducks will be back in action next Thursday against Oregon State in Corvallis. The game is slated to be on ESPN+ at 10pm EST/ 7pm PST. Ducks will look to move to 5-0 before the Player’s Era Festival Tournament starting November 26th.
