Oregon senior linebacker Jeffrey Bassa has seen a lot of rivalry games with the Huskies. And currently Oregon is 0-3 against Washington in its last 3 matchups.

As someone who has played a lot of football in Eugene, it’s clear Bassa would love to leave with a win. Not to mention Oregon would then finish the regular season 12-0.

Bassa met with media on Tuesday after Oregon’s closed practice. Here is what he said about the rivalry and preparing for Washington.

On the Rivalry Game:

“Means a lot. It means a lot to the people that have come before me. The Pacific Northwest. Facing these guys the last three times have not come out to the result we wanted. Last year was real close games. We’re focused on this week tremendously.”

On Last years losses:

“A little bit. You always feel that sour taste in the back of your mouth. Even thought it’s not the same team, it’s the same program.”

On the bye week:

“It was real valuable. Playing 8 straight games in the Big Ten is not easy. Get a break from football mentally. Got to watch some college football this weekend.”

On remaining undefeated:

No doubt. It opened a lot of people’s eyes that a lot of teams are real good and coming to play each week.”
