Jeffrey Bassa on Return to Oregon: "Loyalty is a big thing to me"
Veteran linebacker Jeff Bassa made the decision earlier this year to return to Oregon for his final season. His return will give Oregon a very experienced presence right in the middle of the defense.
On Tuesday Bassa was made available to media to answer some questions. Of course his decision to return, playing with Jestin Jacobs for a second season and some talk about uniforms dominated the discussion.
On Lanning’s Commitment to Oregon:
“It meant the world to me, sitting in his office, having those conversations with him. Loyalty is a big thing to me. I’m so excited for our future with him.”
On Decision to Return:
“Some things like where I’d get drafted, looking at my tape and realizing some of the things I can get better at. We’re going to the Big-10 and there’s opportunities for me to showcase my talents. Obviously there’s also talks with my family and a lot of prayer.”

Coming Back with Jestin Jacobs:
“Just a little bit. Some of the things we could do together. Kind of that 1-2 punch we could be. We had a good first year but an elite second year could push us past the limits. It’s been amazing to have him out there by my side.”
On New Uniforms:
“We got some things cooking. This is going to be a big year for us with the uniforms and I know a lot of people are excited about that.”
