Jhop's Top Ten Following Week Three

Oregon hits the 3-0 mark and wins in impressive fashion for the first time this season. The Ducks went into Corvallis and left no doubt they have the talent to compete. Although the game was close for the first half, it quickly got away from the Beavers with the offense and defense firing on all cylinders.

There was a little shakeup around college football but not much. Georgia struggled with Kentucky, but still won. Texas put in Arch Manning and might have even looked better than with Quinn Ewers.

Here is a look at my personal top ten following the week that was. Also here is a look at last weeks poll just to see the movement. As you’ll notice, unlike the AP and others, my top ten has not changed much since the preseason.

  1. Texas – You can call this 1A and 1B. And as you’ll see I had Texas at No. 2 last week moving them ahead of Ohio State. The Horns look really good in all phases of the game.
  2. Georgia – It really is 1A and 1B. Georgia is another complete team and I’m not letting the sluggish win over Kentucky change my mind much. This is still one of the best teams in college football.
  3. Ohio State – Ohio State has played absolutely no one yet. So it’s hard to get a true sense for this team. It will be interesting to see how they match up with Michigan State in two weeks.
  4. Ole Miss – I think you can really make a case for 4-10 in almost any order. They are all good, talented and play well on both sides of the ball. This Ole Miss team is really dangerous offensively.
  5. Alabama – Bama is getting better and better. I still have my doubts about Jalen Milroe overall but there’s so much talent around him it might not matter.
  6. Tennessee – I know we haven’t seen Tennessee play anyone yet either but they look dang good early on. I’m not sure this team has the depth needed but we’ll definitely find out this week as they play Oklahoma.
  7. Oregon – The Ducks are back. Pretty hard to move them up too much given it was Oregon State and the fact that nobody else really stumbled ahead of them. Just keep winning, you’ll be fine.
  8. Miami – Miami should have the best odds of anyone in the top ten to go undefeated. The ACC is absolutely terrible.
  9. USC – This team is coming around. They don’t have depth but that will only matter if injuries pile up. We’ll really see what this team is made of this week with a big game vs Michigan.
  10. Missouri – Yeah they struggled with Boston College but let’s not be hypocritical. Oregon has struggled too. Still a top ten team for me but they do have some tough games ahead.
