Jhop's Updated Pick on Spencer Fano
Today is a busy day in the Fano household. Later tonight Timpview (Utah) offensive tackle Spencer Fano will make his college decision.
The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder is the No. 150 ranked player nationally per the On3 Consensus Rankings. He is the No. 12 offensive tackle nationally.
This one seemingly boiled down to Oregon and Utah in the end with Michigan making a strong late push. Still the battle seemed to be between the Utes and Ducks.

Back in May I made a prediction to Oregon for Fano. Based off new intel Tuesday morning, I’ve made the move to Utah.
One of the other pieces to this equation is the decision of his older brother, Logan Fano, to enter the transfer portal. Logan signed with BYU as part of its 2021 class.
For more on my pick and the decision to change it from Oregon to Utah, you can read my VIP notes here.
Following my pick, the Utes now have an 85.7% chance at landing Fano.
On3 Scouting Report
Light-footed, technical offensive tackle. Always under control and a menace in the running and passing game. Plays with violence and has exceptional balance. Athleticism stands out when working in open space as a puller and when climbing to the second level. Comfortable in pass protection. Quality kick slide and footwork to live on an island at either tackle spot. Lacks ideal overall mass and strength throughout his frame. One of the few top offensive linemen nationally who does not have verified size or length. Biggest question mark for how soon he can see the field will be his ability to put on good weight. Must add power in order to play with necessary functional strength. Has a high upside due to his movement skills but a low floor as well if he can not get his weight up.
