It’s getting down the nitty gritty and time for the cream to rise to the top. A loss at this point for anyone in the top ten almost assuredly dashes their playoff dreams. Including Oregon and possibly even the undefeated teams.

We’ll just have to see what the next few weeks bring us in what has been a very entertaining season.

Here are my week ten rankings which see very little changes this week.

  1. Georgia – Still the most complete and balanced team in the country. They have dudes all over the roster and Kirby can win. Now Alabama is surging and the SEC CCG is going to be a dandy. The Dawgs have to get by Tennessee this week but I expect they’ll smoke the Vols.
  2. Florida State – The Noles get mighty North Alabama this week after a narrow 3-point win over Miami. I’m not gonna lie, I’m getting close to having to move FSU down as they continue a number of tight wins. We’ll see.
  3. Washington – Is UW, Oregon and Georgia the top three teams in CFB? I’m starting to think so. And Bama might be four. This game in Corvallis is very dangerous for the Huskies. Let the chaos begin.
  4. Oregon – Another quality win for Oregon and what should be an easy win over ASU this weekend. The Ducks are a legitimate top four team in the country.
  5. Alabama – Nick Saban knows how to coach football. He hasn’t forgotten. What makes Bama more unique this year is the way they are winning and the style of offense they are running. Bama legit looks like an old Chip Kelly offense. How ironic is that?
  6. Ohio State – I moved Bama ahead of Ohio State and Michigan this week. I also moved Ohio State above Michigan. Again the two play in two weeks so we’ll see how it shakes out.
  7. Michigan – I’m pretty sure I saw Connor Stallions in Eugene Saturday. I kid, mostly.
  8. Texas – There’s two tiers here IMO. 1-5 could probably all beat up on each other. The same could be said for 6-10. Here’s Texas.
  9. Oregon State – Yep there should be three Pac-12 teams in the top ten and the Beavs are legit. UW should win this weekend but I continue to bang the drum for Jonathan Smith being one of the best coaches in CFB.
  10. Missouri – I had to put someone here. You could put Utah here, LSU, Ole Miss, Oklahoma. Just don’t try and convince me I should put Louisville here. Mizzou gets Florida this week.
