Four-Star Oregon Commit Trending to Big Ten Rival

With early commitments come the side effect of losing some of those commitments throughout the process.
Oregon fans have tracked the quarterback position in the 2026 closely as the drama seems to be just getting started in the cycle. The Ducks scored a commitment from Lincoln-Way East quarterback Jonas Williams back in August as quarterbacks were coming off the board. It was a big win for this staff to get a top ten quarterback with other options trending away.
After Oregon was seen as a threat for No. 1 ranked quarterback Jared Curtis, after he decommitted from Georgia, the Ducks commit (Jonas Williams) started looking around at other options taking visits. For a while USC and LSU have been viewed as the biggest threats to ‘flip’ the Oregon commit.
Wednesday morning On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons both logged predictions for USC to flip the four-star quarterback commit. The Trojans do not have a quarterback committed in the 2026 cycle.

This will be viewed as a big flip for the Trojans who have been very active recruiting Williams. However for Oregon it might mean the Ducks feel really good about the chances with five-star Jared Curtis.
Additionally Oregon and USC are battling for another elite quarterback in this cycle, five-star Ryder Lyons. However Lyons will take his mission out of high school essentially making him a 2027 recruit.
