Josh Conerly Jr. is bluntly honest about the perceived shortcomings of his game. The rising sophomore is one of the top offensive line prospects to sign with Oregon in recent program history. A 6-foot-4, tackle who possesses a rare mix of size and athleticism, Conerly played running back in middle school and also starred on the basketball court for Rainier Beach (Wash.) in high school. Last season, he became the first Oregon offensive lineman in 27 years to catch a touchdown pass. Head coach Dan Lanning flirted with the idea of utilizing him at tight end during the spring. "He has feet like a safety or an outside linebacker, but he's got the power of a lineman," Oregon offensive line coach A'lique Terry said. But if you ask Conerly to identify areas of his game that need improving, he answers without hesitation. "Just having a nasty streak," Conerly said while speaking with reporters following Oregon's April 29 spring game. "I feel like a lot of people will tend to say I really don't have that grit and grind. Finishing people off, finishing all my blocks is something I really want to work on."
