There is plenty on the line for the Oregon baseball team as it enters its final series of the regular season.

The Ducks (32-21, 15-12 Pac-12) begin a three-game set with No. 25 Arizona (35-18, 16-11) this evening at PK Park in Eugene. A big weekend for Oregon could help catapult it back into the national conversation to potentially host a regional.

In its latest field of 64 projection, D1Baseball tabbed the Ducks as a No. 2 seed and predicts they will travel to play in the Spokane regional. Of course, earlier this week, Oregon delivered a thrilling walk-off win over No. 11 Gonzaga.

With a sweep of the Wildcats, the Ducks would not only bolster their national ranking but could also potentially climb up the Pac-12 standings. They currently sit in fifth in the conference, one game behind the Wildcats and two games behind third-place UCLA.

The next three days will be very telling for how Oregon’s season unfolds. Follow along with the action here and in the ScoopDuck forums.

First inning

T1 — Arizona’s first three batters of the night reached base, and the Wildcats scored on Tanner O’Tremba’s RBI single to take a 1-0 lead. Bennett Thompson threw out a runner at second on a stolen base attempt to end the inning.

Third inning

T3 — Arizona threatened, and put two runners on. RJ Gordon came on to relieve Ciuffetelli with two outs and got Arizona cleanup batter Chase Davis to line out to right field, where Anthony Hall made a leaping catch to save a run and end the inning.

B3 — Drew Cowley and Josh Kasevich led off the inning with back-to-back singles, and Cowley later scored on a fielders choice to make it 6-1 Oregon. Bennett Thompson then blooped a two-out double into left field to score Anthony Hall from first and tack on another run.

Fourth inning

T4 — RJ Gordon put two Arizona runners on with no outs, but retired the next three batters he faced to end the threat.
