Live updates: Oregon baseball vs. No. 25 Arizona
Oregon has a chance to wrap up the series this afternoon as it hosts No. 25 Arizona for the second game of its final series of the regular season on Friday.
On Thursday, the Ducks topped the Wildcats 10-4 behind Tanner Smith’s two-homer night.

First inning
T1 — Oregon starter Isaac Ayon hit a batter and surrendered a hit with two outs but worked his way out of the jam and held Arizona scoreless.
B2 — Brennan Milone lifted a deep fly ball to the warning track that was dropped by Arizona right-fielder Tanner O’Tremba, allowing Milone to reach third. The next batter, Drew Cowley, poked a single to left field to plate Milone and give Oregon a 1-0 lead.
Second inning
T2 — Arizona’s Garen Caulfield reached on a leadoff single, but Ducks’ shortstop Josh Kasevich made a nice turn to start an inning-ending 6-4-3 double play.
B2 — Oregon freshman catcher Bennett Thompson launches the first homer of his college career — a two-run shot — to give the Ducks a 3-0 lead.
Third inning
T3 — Ayon worked around a one-out single to keep the Wildcats scoreless.
B3 — Drew Cowley ripped a one-out single, but was the only Duck to reach base in the third.
Fourth inning
T4 — Chase Davis launched a solo homer to left field to lead off the inning. It was the left-hander’s 16th homer of the year.
B4 — Sam Novitske walked, and Gavin Grant singled, but both players were left stranded.
Fifth inning
T5 — Arizona star catcher Daniel Susac ripped a one-out double to score Mac Bingham from second and cut Oregon’s lead to 3-2. The next batter, Tanner O’Tremba, plated another run on a groundout to shortstop to tie the game at 3-3.

Ayon managed to retire Tony Bullard to end the inning and escape the jam.
B5 — Drew Cowley got his third hit of the game with a two-out single. But he was left stranded.
Sixth inning
T6 — Isaac Ayon retired the Wildcats in order and struck out the final two batters of the inning.
B6 — Bennett Thompson reached on an error and then stole second, but was left stranded.
Seventh inning
T7 — Oregon turned its second 6-4-3 double play of the day to get end another scoreless inning from Isaac Ayon.
B7 — Arizona starter Garrett Irvin, on his 104th pitch of the night, struck out Drew Cowley swinging to end the inning and put the finishing touch on his solid outing.
Eighth inning
T8 — Isaac Ayon delivers one of his best innings of the night and notched his sixth and seventh strikeouts of the night to retire the Wildcats in order.
B8 — Gavin Grant ripped a single through the left side to score Tyler Ganus from second and give the Ducks a 4-3 lead.
Ninth inning
T9 — Isaac Ayon struck out the side to complete the first nine-inning complete game of his college career. He recorded a career-high nine strikeouts.
