Matayo Uiagalelei breaks down Oregon's defensive performance

Defensive End Matayo Uiagalelei got the opportunity to speak with the media last night following Oregon’s narrow 16-13 win. Oregon’s defense and especially Matayo are the reason Oregon is still perfect on the year. Last night Oregon unofficially clinched it’s spot in the Big Ten Championship, and one of the defensive leaders was able to reflect on the Ducks’ comeback win.
On the game-sealing interception:
“We knew it was a two minute situation, so we were running a pass rush game. I see the QB release it, and see someone tip it, so I look up in the air and it was right there. Got kinda lucky, but it was right there.”

On the emotions on the sideline:
“That’s not a situation we wanted to be in, but you get to make a play like that and celebrate with your team, it’s pretty exciting.”
On the staff’s trust in the defense:
“I love it. I feel like we could be put in any type of situation, and we look at it as an opportunity to get another stop.”
